New blog. hopefully

Alright so I am back.
It has been three wonderful weeks since I last posted and I promise there was a good reason behind it.
I was in Europe!
I will be making a new blog about my adventures and posting in it ( maybe) daily as if i were doing it on a day by day basis in Europe. I had no computer so I couldnt while there.
When I get the new one figured out I will post the new web adress as a post on this one.

Cant stop, wont stop

Alright. This new years resolution to do things I have never done and not do things I dont want to was the greatest idea ever. I have had an amazing year so far. I go to all the things that you usually contemplate going to and then pass on.

I have gone to a techno concert
I have been to rose gardens in Tallahassee
I went to a river house and wakeboarded on the Suwannee River
I have gotten so much closer with the people who matter to me in my life and distanced myself from those who i feel drained after seeing them. We all know people like that.
I have eaten at restaurants and eaten food that I normally wouldnt have.
I have started dating someone new who is actually good for me.
I have planned a trip to Europe ( that I will be leaving for on Tuesday!!)
I have gone to a jazz club.
I have made some really bad decisions and had great stories to tell from it.
I have not once done something that I knew deep down I really didnt want to do, because I thought I "should".

The most recent awesome thing I did was attend a Girl Talk concert with a few of my guy friends. And can I just say wow. It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to.

It was down in St. Petersburg at a venue now called Jannus Live ( it used to be Jannus landing, I know a very significant change). It was outside so it was awesome to look up and just see the sky, that and huge pieces of confetti falling on my face and balloons being thrown from the stage.
Picture this, a massive dance part with the coolest people and the highest energy that you could just feed off of.

I had really comfortable shoes on so that helped im sure.
I tried to upload one of the 10 videos I took at the show, but of corse they are not working. I tip my hat off to Girl Talk.
You rocked my world

Meow

So I am definitely not some crazy cat lady or anything, but I do love my kitty cat.
We recently gave her this sock that used to be filled with Catnip and she may or may not be addicted to it like a drug. She sits by it and guards it night and day.

Sister Sister

So far being home has been everything I thought it would be, relaxing, helpful in my quest to lose a little weight and a bit boring at times.

My friend Eileen and I did go to a Sister Hazel concert though, which was really fun. We may have been on the younger side of the age scale at this concert but enjoyed the people watching very much. If there had been seats, we probably would have liked it even better but what can ya do.

Garden

My last days in Tallahassee were extremely stressful with exams and such, so my friend Catalina and I took some downtime to take some photos. We went to this state park called Maclay Gardens. Now there were no flowers actually blooming in this garden so it was more grass and trees. Which was fine by us because we were just going to get away.

Sad song

This may seem like a strange concept but I have always been interested in finding out what people's favorite sad songs are. These are not necessarily the songs that you listen to when you are sad. On the contrary it might be the song that you listen to when you are happy and can appreciate the song without it bringing you down.
Here were some of the answers I got:

  Cats in the cradle
 Wish you were here

Best ill ever be

So followers..I know I have let you down. but feel free to leave your favorite sad song in a comment!

I think its safe to say that I am officially the worst blogger ever. The longer that I went without a post, the more awesome I felt it had to be. Well here it is, my un-awesome blog post just to break the silence.
What has happened since then:

It was my birthday! yay 21. On the day of my birthday my roommates and close friends went to a local mexican restaurant and got margs.

My roommate Casey and I :)

Then I had a Harry Potter themed birthday fiesta that weekend! Everyone dressed up Harry Potter and we had a blast!
Some of the girls in their Potter gear :)

The song of the month!

Magazine flowers

Here is a super easy and cheap way to decorate!

Magazine flowers-

What you will need:
Ruler or something square to use as stencil
Magazine pages
Glue ( I used hot glue because it was faster)
Something to use as a stem. I used straws because that is all I had and I think it gave it a little fun feel.

Depending on how big you want each petal, measure out a square from your magazine page. I used a frame to help me that measured 3.5" by 3.5"

Start with your square.
Fold paper in half

Bring the outside corners up to touch the tip of the triangle. Here it is displayed sideways.

Again, fold the outside corners into the center

apply glue in between the creases when you fold them over.

Take three or four completed petals and glue them to your stem.
I fastened the stems together using a flower ring that I had, but really anything will do.
This is really only if you want to make more than one / a bouquet.

Trendy

I am doing a project for my Editing/Writing/Media class about style as it pertains to composing. We are then supposed to remediate ( or use in another medium) the same main points. I chose to take the theme of style as your identity and convey that in people's personal clothing styles.

I had two friends of mine pose for me for the project.
Here are some of my favorites.

Musing

I have been listening to this song all week. I have never seen the music video, so I do not vouch for it. The song however, is pretty cool if I do say so myself.
Enjoy

Things I love right now

1. Ellie Goulding- Lights ( dubstep remix).

Now I can't take credit for this one. My friend Tyler Bradley had this song on his facebook and I became semi obsessed with it. Even if you don't like dubstep, I would give this one a go. I also just discovered his blog based around music that he finds.
check it out. its called The Daily Downlowd

2. Red Wine

I used to be a strictly white wine drinker until very recently. I was at a friend's birthday celebration and did not want to drink that much. We were out at this place called The Wine Loft and I only wanted to drink one glass. So I ordered a glass of red wine so I would drink it slowly and not really enjoy it lol
Not I am hooked. Im loving me a nice house Merlot.
Apparently it has antioxidants in it so you could say I am being healthy.
If you wanted to.

3. Glee Pandora Station

Now a days everyone is a glee fan. They all tune in to watch the show and sing the covers of all the songs that we love.

But I would be so bold as to say that not everyone listens to the glee radio station, which would put me way higher on the fan list than others.
This Pandora station plays the best songs. Not only the Glee covers, but also the songs they cover, other disney songs, and basically stuff you want to hear.

4. Drop box

So this is not the average thing to put on a blog but let me tell you, this thing is awesome.
Has your friend ever asked you to send them a ton of pictures and you have to sit on your computer and email every single one of them individually? And then you start to hate your friend for making you do this?
Well no more! go to www.dropbox.com and make an account. It literally takes two seconds. Once you have both made an account you can simply copy the pictures you want into your dropbox folder and they will appear in your friend's folder on their computer.
Its genius I tell you!

Coooookie Crisp

So here I am on a Sunday night watching an adorable indie film called HappyThankYouMorePlease and there comes a scene with a little boy eating like 10 choc chip cookies. Then it hits me.
I would really love a chocolate chip cookie.

I mean, come on. Who wouldnt love a chocolate chip cookie at 9:30 on a Sunday night? Whoever they are I hope i never meet them.
But I digress.
So I start googeling (googling? idk)) where to get a cookie in Tallahassee.
Now I know I could simply go to Publix but I don't want to. Ok? Jeese
So here pops up this website called Late Baked Goods.
I am intrigued so I click it.

Brilliant! It is a cookie and brownie delivery service that only operates between the hours of 8pm and 2 am Thursday through Sunday.
Now I know what you are thinking. "those generous people are making sure students who are studying late night have warm delicious cookies when they need a little break". I know. that is obviously what they are doing.

I dont care what their motives are, this place is fucking genius. They even deliver milk with the cookies.

Cookies $0.75 each

    - Chocolate Chip
    - Oatmeal Raisin
    - Sugar Cookie
    - Special Of The Week!
Brownies $1.00 each

    - Double Fudge
    - Regular
    - Blondie

Extras!

    - 12oz Milk ........................... $1.50
    - 12oz Chocolate Milk........ $1.50
    - 12oz Soy Milk.....................$2.00

That is their menu in case you were wondering ^

So long story short, I called the number and some crazy lady answered. apparently they went out of business or something. So this whole post was for nothing because here I am without any warm cookies or brownies or milk for that matter.
But I thought this idea was so cool that I had to share it with you.
And by you I of corse mean no one because I have no followers yet.
But in case you did happen to stumble across my page. I am writing for you and only you. So go out and get this business going again because I think it is bloody brilliant.
That is all. Have a great week.

Linkin Park After Dark

So this whole blogging every day or even every week thing has not exactly worked out, but I am getting to it now. So lets go!

For Christmas my older brother Michael got us tickets to the Linkin Park concert at the St. Pete Times Forum on January 22. Now to explain how excited we both were for this concert I need to explain when the obsession began.

Linkin Park's first album Hybrid Theory came out in 2000. I was ten. My brother listened to it, thus I listened to it. And the love blossomed. It is now 10 years later and neither of us have been to a concert.
Needless to say we had waited long enough.

We had nosebleed seats and couldn't have cared less.

Foggy

It has been sort of overcast and wet here over the past week or so. Not so good for setting the mood. but oh so beautiful at night. The fog made me want to just prance around FSU's campus and take pictures.
So I did.

The Sun

So for Christmas, my Aunt and Uncle who live out in New Mexico got me a subscription to this magazine called The Sun.

This magazine is meant to inspire and celebrate life in all its forms. And that is just what it does. I usually cant get through an entire story without stopping to start writing.
The stories are written by established and upcoming writers.

They are mostly non fiction, beautifully written, honest pieces.

Simply a joy to read.

1-1-11

I've decided a few things for this next year. I want to try to not do the same things I did last year. Simple.

I want to go to new restaurants. New bars. Travel to new places. I just want to be a happier person.
